XBOX One External Storage Device Converter
The recently released XBOX One External Storage Device Converter has now been updated by author 'Angerwound' to version 1.1 with lots more useful features, here is the full changelog: *Changes* - Ability for creation of new storage devices allowing people without the June System Preview update to make use of external storage! - Ability for USB 2.0 drives to be used with the console. - Capability to create and utilize multiple partitions on a single drive for use with the XBOX One. Overview: This application will make a hard drive used for XBOX One External Storage (released in the June System Update); recognizable to a PC for read/write of the data. It will also allow you the ability to create an XBOX One External Storage device right from the application. This allows people without the June Preview Update to utilize External Storage capabilities in the latest Public System Update. Note: This application requires Administrator privileges on execution otherwise it may state "No storage devices found". Usage: (Enable read/write of XBOX One External Storage Device) 1) Plug in your XBOX One external storage device into your PC after it has been formatted for use on your console. 2) Open the application and choose "SCAN". 3) Your device should be listed. Right click and choose "Enable PC Mode". 4) Choose scan again; and you should see that your device is now in PC Mode. 5) Disconnect/Reconnect your drive and Windows should now mount the drive allowing you to read/write the files stored by the console. Článek 16, který nakonec nebyl
O náhlé noční bitvě na severoirské téma, které se v Česku dostalo poměrně málo pozornosti. Milí čtenáři, po zábavě s hledáním začerněného textu v PDF jsem si říkal, že nějakou dobu nechám zase EU na pokoji a budu se věnovat jiným tématům. Leč osud tomu chtěl jinak. Málokdy se stane, že člověk jde v pátek večer spát, v sobotu ráno se vzbudí a zjistí, že mezitím proběhlo něco jako diplomatická bitva u Agincourtu, jen s tím rozdílem, že místo palcáty se mlátili po hlavách papíry a podstatně více zúčastněných rytířů mělo ve znaku irskou harfu. Obrat o 180 stupňů Roli prvního útoku kavalerie sehrálo pátečně večerní prohlášení Evropské komise – mezitím už vzaté zpět – že zavede kontrolu nad pohybem vakcín z Irské republiky do Severního Irska. Odvolávalo se přitom na článek 16 severoirského protokolu, o kterém si za chvíli povíme více. Evropská komise podle BBC 29. LEDNA sdělila: „Toto je oprávněné coby ochranný mechanismus podle článku 16 tohoto protokolu za účelem odvrácení závažných společenských obtíží způsobených nedostatkem zásob ohrožujícím řádné plnění očkovacích programů členských států. To by bylo faux pas i v méně závažné věci, natož v případě článku 16. Následovalo pozdvižení na ostrovech a intenzivní telefonování mezi irským taoiseachem Martinem, předsedkyní komise Ursulou von der Leyen a Borisem Johnsonem. Šéfka severoirské vlády Arlene Foster prohlásila užití článku 16 za „neuvěřitelně nepřátelský čin“ a k odsouzení kroku se přidala i předsedkyně severoirských nacionalistů (Sinn Fein), která to označila za „závažnou chybu“. Vlastně si nevybavuji, jestli jsem kdy viděl takovou shodu mezi severoirskými katolíky a protestanty, ale myslím, že ne. Evropská komise nakonec kolem půlnoci obrátila o 180 stupňů (pro matematiky: π radiánů), původní oznámení smazala, oznámila, že šlo o „přehlédnutí“ a že článek 16 použít nechce. Tím horká fáze konfliktu skončila a začalo uvažování, co že se to vlastně právě proboha stalo. „Jaderná volba“ Patrně je čas se podívat na zub onomu zmíněnému článku 16, protože jen se znalostí kontextu můžeme ocenit, proč kvůli němu někteří nejvýše postavení politici Evropy viseli až do víkendové noci na drátě. Irsko coby ostrov je už po několik generací rozdělené mezi dva státy, Irskou republiku (dříve Irský svobodný stát) a Velkou Británii. To se všeobecně ví. Ačkoliv je Severní Irsko jen malý kus země, odhadem srovnatelný s půlkou naší Moravy, po mnoho let šlo o jednu z nejproblémovějších končin Evropy. „Trable“, které jsou ještě v živé paměti, si vyžádaly přes tři tisíce mrtvých. Severoirský konflikt se vyznačoval permanentní atmosférou strachu, protože jste nikdy nevěděli, co vyletí do vzduchu příště a zda se tam v tu chvíli nebudou nacházet vaši rodinní příslušníci. To, že se jej podařilo ukončit jednáním a mírem, aniž by došlo k nějakým masakrům a hromadnému vyhánění poražených podle jugoslávského či iráckého vzoru, je na obvyklé standardy dějin něco jako zázrak. Velkopáteční dohoda z roku 1998, kterou byl konflikt ukončen, stanovila mimo jiné, že vnitroirská hranice musí být „měkká“. V současné době připomíná klasickou vnitroschengenskou hranici, kterou přejedete, aniž byste si toho nutně všimli. Spousta lidí má na opačné straně hranice pozemky či nemovitosti, obchod volně proudí oběma směry. Jelikož Velká Británie přestala být členem EU, bylo nutno dořešit status Severního Irska, aby na ostrově nevznikla „tvrdá hranice“ zakázaná mírovou dohodou. (Nikdo, kdo je se situací aspoň trochu seznámen a má v hlavě rozum, nechce riskovat nové násilnosti a vznik nějaké druhé Provizorní IRA.) Dohoda, která upravuje poměry na ostrově po brexitu, se jmenuje Severoirský protokol a její oficiální český překlad se nachází zde. Článek 16 umožňuje oběma stranám zavést jednostranná restriktivní opatření v případě vážných problémů. Neoficiálně se mu říká „nuclear option“ čili „jaderná volba“, což je samozřejmě metafora. Nejde o to, že by v případě jeho aktivace vyrostly nad Evropou atomové hřiby, ale o to, že je to mechanismus, který se má uplatnit až v krajní situaci a jako poslední volba, protože má potenciál rozjet mezi oběma stranami začarovaný kruh vzájemných eskalací a protiopatření. Navíc představuje ohrožení Velkopáteční dohody, protože omezit pohyb zboží mezi Severním Irskem a republikou vyžaduje nějakou formu hraničních kontrol. Kdopak za to může? Nyní už tedy lze pochopit, proč v Dublinu, Belfastu i Londýně nastalo pozdvižení. Původní prohlášení EK hrozilo náhlým zhmotněním vnitroirské hranice bez toho, aby místní obyvatelstvo bylo uvědoměno předem. Navíc zdůvodnění bylo poněkud slabé. Severní Irsko je aktuálně zásobováno vakcínami z Británie v rámci společného zdravotnického systému NHS a nikde jsem nenarazil na informaci, že by z Irska do Severního Irska proudily nějaké náklady evropských vakcín. Ten, kdo sáhl po „nukleárním“ článku 16, tak učinil takříkajíc preventivně, v duchu úvahy co by, kdyby. Irský list Independent píše, že podle nejmenovaného vládního zdroje stojí za celou krizí někdo, kdo „nechápal politické důsledky tohoto rozhodnutí“. Zcela upřímně, u této formulace mě hned napadla osoba, jejíž dlouhé jméno začíná slovem Ursula a končí slovem Leyen. Poloviční přítel? Poslední, trochu obecnější pohled na paniku kolem nedostatku vakcín. Lidí je na světě přes sedm miliard, v bohatších státech světa jich žijí dejme tomu dvě miliardy, podle toho, kde ještě položíte laťku bohatství. Zásobit je všechny během pár měsíců vakcínami je nemožný úkol, ale to zase neznamená, že bychom se o ně měli bezuzdně porvat jako žraloci o velrybí zdechlinu. Vakcinační krize pomine, ale pitomosti a podpásovky v jejím průběhu spáchané si budou jednotlivé národy světa ještě dlouho pamatovat – a bude to mezi nimi zasívat nedůvěru. To, že EU zavádí mechanismy ke kontrole exportu vakcín, nevidím jako dobrý a promyšlený krok. Tak například: vakcína Pfizer/BioNTech, která se vyrábí na evropském kontinentě, vyžaduje ke svému fungování kromě samotné mRNA také dodávky lipidových nanočástic, technologii kanadské firmy Acuitas. Lipidové nanočástice chrání mRNA v organismu až do té chvíle, než se dostane do buněk. Bez nich by vakcína nebyla účinná, lipidy pomáhají dopravit mRNA tam, kde je jí potřeba. A tuto specializovanou chemickou výrobu si Pfizer nasmlouval v Anglii! Dnešní logistické řetězce jsou zkrátka propletené a jednostrannými zásahy, po kterých se nedá vyloučit stejně tvrdá odveta, můžeme snadno dospět ke stavu, kdy na tom budou špatně úplně všichni. Ve fungování EU se toho hodně svaluje na Němce, ale myslím si, že ona mentalita ostražitého a podezřívavého protekcionismu vůči outsiderům je spíš francouzský vynález a že v nových vztazích s Británií bude tato mentalita Evropě leda na škodu. Právě Macron Britům v sobotním Guardianu vzkazuje, že nemůžou být „polovičním přítelem“; ach jej, napadlo jej vůbec, jaké jsou další možnosti, které tím potenciálně uvádí na scénu? Přece musí být aspoň ze školy seznámen s tím, jak vřelé ty anglo-francouzské vztahy v minulosti byly. Určitě dával pozor, vždyť má koneckonců za ženu svoji bývalou učitelku ze střední.
