It has been now 5,218 days since the original Xbox was released by Microsoft, but still there is tons of people out there using them in their living rooms as their Media Center for Movies/TV and more! We might be using Xbox One's now, but before there was this thing called XB1 in our living room taking space, there was amazing new device released 5,218 days ago, that ended up being the de-facto standard for streaming media from our PC's and direct from the 'net, when XBMC was born. So many things have changed in the 'scene world' since those amazing first Xbox days, so its good to see a team out there still working on the original core of XBMC and adding in little features and improvements for all those people still madly in love with the green box. XBMC4Xbox 3.5.3 has been released. A smaller update again, but includes some weather and scraper fixes, and some library updates. Changes since 3.5.1 include: -- Improved compatibility with some Kodi addons. -- Fixes for the TMDB scraper. -- Fix for weather location search and data. -- Python updated to 2.7.11 (including updated SQLite3/OpenSSL). -- Fix for a problem with stuttering video. -- FFMpeg libraries updated to 1.2.12 (the last of the 1.2 series). The recently released XBOX One External Storage Device Converter has now been updated by author 'Angerwound' to version 1.1 with lots more useful features, here is the full changelog: *Changes* - Ability for creation of new storage devices allowing people without the June System Preview update to make use of external storage! - Ability for USB 2.0 drives to be used with the console. - Capability to create and utilize multiple partitions on a single drive for use with the XBOX One. Overview: This application will make a hard drive used for XBOX One External Storage (released in the June System Update); recognizable to a PC for read/write of the data. It will also allow you the ability to create an XBOX One External Storage device right from the application. This allows people without the June Preview Update to utilize External Storage capabilities in the latest Public System Update. Note: This application requires Administrator privileges on execution otherwise it may state "No storage devices found". Usage: (Enable read/write of XBOX One External Storage Device) 1) Plug in your XBOX One external storage device into your PC after it has been formatted for use on your console. 2) Open the application and choose "SCAN". 3) Your device should be listed. Right click and choose "Enable PC Mode". 4) Choose scan again; and you should see that your device is now in PC Mode. 5) Disconnect/Reconnect your drive and Windows should now mount the drive allowing you to read/write the files stored by the console. RGH2 (phat) firmware for X360ACE released
Nice update for RGH'ing the Phat Xbox360's consoles by 15432 15432 over at hackfaq.net has released custom firmwares in XSVF format for X360ACE v1/v2 to support RGH2 in fat Xbox 360 consoles. The firmware files can be flashed via JTAG interface. ModRobert over at EurAsia is reporting that 15432 has released a nice update for the X360ACE glitch'ing chips that are very affordable let via stable, so now with this custom firmware you be able to easy RGH your Phat Xbox 360 console. Here is the translated tutorial from HackFAQ posted by 15432 in Russian: For about a month I have been working on the launch of the chip RGH2 x360ace. Finally, everything is ready for release! For fun, try to arrange an article in the form of FAQ Q: Why now? RGH2 on veils was for a long time! A: Cheap and powerful chips x360ace appeared relatively recently. Startups are not perfect, sometimes up to 15 cycles comes, but I'm not trying to change the styling. Xbox 360 Winbond 2KB Problem Solved
XeLL image and XeBuild patches released Russian hacker has released solution for new unglitchable consoles 15432 (Russia) and DrShottky (Italia) have released XeLL images and XeBuild patches compatible with Winbond RAM. Someday I’ve promised to start working at my own Winbond solution, if TX won’t release it soon. I thought, if somebody can do that, I can do that, too! (Now I understand, that was slightly wrong belief) After the first failure, I had to delay everything for a month (mountains, sea, other rest). I’ve returned a week ago, and started research from scratch. I had only Trinity console (thanks to grifon2006!!) and lots of hardware tools (sent by mixail21). But the most important help was from an italian colleague (DrShottky), he solved a lot of problems and suggested main ideas. So..This project was made not only by me, we all did it! Thank you, guys! Xbox 360's with 500GB and FIFA 15 pack are incompatible with RGH Seems Microsoft has released a new Corona motherboard layout that is using a smaller die and new traces and Nand setup, as such it is currently not possible to RGH (mod) these new Xbox 360 consoles! Looks like Microsoft is still improving the Xbox 360 console, releasing yet another new model, and because it is new PCB layout with a smaller die chipset, it is sadly incompatible with the current RGH hacking setups, leaving those buying these new Xbox 360 consoles unable to mod them correctly. "KonzolozZ over at team-xecuter.com has posted info about a new Xbox 360 Corona motherboard bundled as 500GB + Fifa 15 Pack which is incompatible with RGH. Various observations from the forum post: The CGPU is without IHS, and the type is: 4672991 D-A3;X888841-001. Featuring SKhynix or ST NAND Samsung K4J10324KG-HC14 NAND flash. These are the new 500 GB consoles, the MFR DATE 2014.08.14; LOT NO./DATE: 1436X. The NAND is readable and writeable, after writing ECC it gives 0010 secondary error. The post_out fix adapter doesn't fit." But don't worry, Team-Xecuter says they will have one of these new models tomorrow, and 15432 is already looking at the new Nand dumps, so it might not be long before you be able to RGH these new boxes, all tho for sure you will need a new post_out fix adapter, and I guess this means CR4 will be delayed a bit more again by TX until these new Corona models are sorted out by everyone. One of people arrested in New Jersey is better known on many 'scene' forum sites like XboxHacker as 'SonicISO' and was originally the Admin behind the very popular E3-Forums for E3 Flasher and their ODE device before it was suddenly shutdown earlier this year. A New Jersey man, a Wisconsin teen and a man from Canada are facing more than a dozen charges for allegedly breaking into computer systems and stealing sensitive information belonging to the U.S. Army and other companies, including Microsoft. Obtained and partially published Thursday by The Smoking Gun, the indictment - still sealed, but filed in U.S. District Court in Delaware - charges Sanadodeh Nesheiwat, 28, from New Jersey; Nathan Leroux, 19, from Wisconsin, and Canadian resident David Pokora. The men are alleged, beginning in 2011, to have begun a roughly two-year cyber crusade against video game companies, during which time they identified and exploited vulnerabilities in computer systems belonging to Microsoft, Valve Corporation, Activision Blizzard, Zombie Studios, and Epic Games, according to a report. The Microsoft breach enabled the alleged attackers to steal information on the then unreleased Xbox One, according to published pages of the indictment, which explain that the perpetrators were able to use that data to build counterfeit versions of the console, including one that was sold on eBay for $5,000. Intrusions into the computer systems of companies such as Epic Games and Activision Blizzard allowed the attackers to steal early copies of "Gears of War 3" and "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3," two blockbuster titles that had yet to be released at the time, according to the report. Also, Apache helicopter pilot simulation software designed for the U.S. Army was stolen from Zombie Studios, a company commissioned by the American military organization to develop the chopper training program, the report added. The men are facing 15 felony charges, including multiple counts of wire fraud, three counts of unauthorized computer access, two counts of copyright infringement, and one count each of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to commit theft of trade secrets, conspiracy to commit mail fraud, attempted mail fraud, conspiracy to commit identity theft, and aggravated identity theft. The indictment was returned by a grand jury in July and Nesheiwat and Leroux were arrested at their respective homes last week, according to the report, which adds that the status of Pokora was undetermined at the time.
